Rusty Pumpkin

a turmoil. half way. and starting from 0. ground 0.
a bike starts over again. as if it were new. but it isn’t. it’s half way through. deceiving, in a way, but honest too. for all the cracks, the spoils, the faults, the hiccups, all is there. unmistakably. but still. it restarts. from —almost— 0.
the roman cistern, once vital for a leading city, now an abundant aquarium for fat fish.
fish, 3 fish, more. but 3 they are, chasing each others tails. ignorant, conscious? sisters. ex-lovers. lovers.
money, not money, bit goodwilling superstition from wellwishers. for a family, for a friend, a lover, a could-be lover.

Rusty Pumpkin is an annual alternative media festival organized by Sona Abgaryan, a multimedia artist from Armenia. This was my small contribution in 2010, based on two specific moments, both connected with Armenia and deep friendship.

Note on sturgeons: One of the most ancient fish still on earth. First appeared in fossil records approximately 200 million years ago. Had an exceptionally slow evolution earning them informal status as living fossils. Feeding on shells, crustaceans and small fish from the sea bottom in brackish waters. World-famous for its eggs aka caviar. Longest-lived of the fishes, some living well over 100 years. Undisturbed, they can attain over 5,5 m and 2000 kg. Sexually mature at 20 years or more.
